As a business coaching expert working with service-based small business owners, I often get asked about income expectations during the initial phases of the Mindful Mumpreneurs Program. Let me be transparent – I intentionally keep income expectations low during our 10-week journey together. Here’s why:
The program’s primary focus is on building strong mental and structural foundations for your business. We work on developing clarity, confidence and capabilities as an entrepreneur. Just like constructing a building, you need solid groundwork before adding floors.
During our time together, we:
-
Structure your business model and operations
-
Strengthen your entrepreneurial mindset
-
Set clear goals and action plans
-
Conduct customer interviews to understand needs
-
Develop targeted solutions for your ideal customer
While some clients do receive inquiries and make sales during the program, that’s not our main objective initially. The emphasis is on practicing and refining your sales process, handling objections effectively, and learning what works (and doesn’t work) for your small business.
Think of it like learning to drive – you first master the basics in a controlled environment before hitting busy roads. Similarly, we focus on mastering business fundamentals before pursuing sales targets.
Many of my clients discover exciting small business ideas through customer interviews. Whether it’s an innovative service concept or a unique product offering, these insights often lead to pivoting their original business model for better market fit.
The real momentum typically builds after completing the foundational program. That’s when you’ll start implementing everything you’ve learned with growing confidence. Most of my clients choose to continue working together beyond the initial 10 weeks because they see the value in ongoing support and accountability as they scale their businesses.
I’ve seen numerous success stories emerge from this approach. One client who started a home-based business coaching practice struggled initially but used the program to refine her offering. Today she runs multiple successful small business workshops in Dubai. Another client transformed her small business idea into a thriving Pastries Shop by really understanding her target market’s needs.
So while immediate income shouldn’t be your primary expectation during the program, you’ll gain something far more valuable – the skills, mindset and foundation to build a sustainable business that can thrive long-term.
The key is patience and trust in the process. Focus on mastering the fundamentals, understanding your market, and developing your entrepreneurial capabilities. The income will follow naturally as you implement these learnings with growing confidence and clarity.
Remember, every successful business started with strong foundations. Use these 10 weeks to build yours. The practice and learning you gain now will serve you well as you grow your business in today’s dynamic market.
